With winter closing in, we're launching our new #MotivationalMegs weekend challenge. Let's stay active, connected, and well-rested during these cooler months.
The challenge comprises two parts:
1. The Power Down Hour: We're asking you to turn off your phone for an hour each day, focusing solely on the present moment. This practice helps you to connect with your surroundings, cultivate mindfulness, and give yourself a break from the digital world.
2. Sleep for Success: The main aim here is to increase your average sleep time by 30 minutes, for at least 5 nights a week. If you're already clocking in 8+ hours per night, the goal is to maintain it.
We chose to focus on sleep because its benefits are astounding, yet often overlooked. A few additional hours of quality sleep can lead to:
Increased productivity
Improved mental function
Enhanced immune system functionality
Mood regulation
Better athletic recovery and performance
To achieve quality sleep, here are a few tips:
Maintain a consistent sleep schedule
Ensure your sleep environment is dark, quiet, and cool
Limit screen time at least 30 minutes before bed
Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol before sleep
Tracking your sleep hours and using them as your 'score' creates a fun and competitive element to the challenge. If you have a wearable device like a Garmin or Apple Watch, these can accurately track your sleep hours.
We hope you'll join us in this challenge, fostering better habits that will set us up for success in all facets of our lives. Let us know how you're progressing by sharing on social media with the tag #Cube43SleepChallenge.
Stay strong, stay connected, and stay rested, Cube43 community!
